Technical Support or CNS (Communication, Navigation, Surveillance) is the fundamental triad of the air traffic management (ATM) infrastructure, on which are based the safety, capacity and efficiency of RA airspace aeronavigational service.
Communication – is the most important link in the exchange of information between pilots and controllers, including both traditional voice radio communication and modern digital data transmission (CPDLC) protocols.
Navigation – ensures the aircraft’s accurate, continuous, and reliable position in space and time, using the full spectrum of technologies from ground-based radio beacons (VOR, DME, ILS) to satellite-based multi-system (GNSS).
Surveillance – provides continuous air traffic monitoring by combining the capabilities of primary and secondary radars, multi-position surveillance, and advanced automatic dependent surveillance (ADS-B and ADS-C) systems.
The full integration and seamless operation of these three components ensures the highest level and standards of air navigation service and safety.
