GEN 1.3  Entry, transit and departure of passengers and crew

1  Customs requirements

1.1 Baggage or articles belonging to disembarking passengers and crew are immediately released except for those selected by the customs authorities for inspection. Such baggage will be cleared on the basis of oral declaration except in the case of returning citizens. Baggage or articles more than 50kg and/or 150 000 AMD (Armenian drams) are declared and cleared without any exception.
1.2 Individuals may import cash money into the Republic of Armenia amounting to 15 000 Euros in bank notes and coins as well as in payment securities. In case of the mentioned sum exceeds, the import of the noted monetary value is subject to customs declaration. No customs formalities are normally required on departure except for the special cases (ancient articles and articles of culture, arms, animals of Red Book, plants etc.) when certain procedures are required on the basis of oral declaration.
1.3 Individuals have the right to export cash money from the Republic of Armenia amounting to 5 000 000 AMD (Armenian drams) or adequate cash foreign currency in bank notes and coins as well as in payment securities. In case the mentioned sum exceeds, the export of Armenian drams and foreign currency is carried out through non-cash way and the export of payment securities is carried out through written customs declaration.

2  Immigration requirements

2.1  A foreign citizen can arrive to the Republic of Armenia obtaining an entrance visa issued by the corresponding authorities of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country and on the border lines obtaining an entrance visa issued by the corresponding authorities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, otherwise by the prescribed manner stipulated by international agreements of the Republic of Armenia.
2.2  An entrance visa is not required from the citizens of those countries with which the Republic of Armenia has appropriate agreements (CIS countries).
2.3 For getting an entrance visa of the Republic of Armenia the foreign citizen should fill in questionnaire stated by the Government and perform all the necessary documents. The types of the entrance visas are:
  1. Transit entrance visa valid for 3 days,
  2. Tourist entrance visa valid for 21 days.
  3. Tourist entrance visa for long period valid for 120 days.
2.4  Visa obtaining form: The entrance visa is registered in the passport or separately is attached to it.
2.5 For getting an entrance visa the foreign citizen must pay fee according to the prescribed manner and amount of the legislation of the Republic of Armenia.
2.6 Rejection for the entrance visa: The handing over of the visa of the Republic of Armenia to the foreign citizen can be rejected, about which the applicant must be notified.
2.7 Foreign citizens, people without citizenship and refugees may leave the Republic of Armenia, if they have a valid passport or another valid document authenticating their legal residence till the moment of their leave from the Republic of Armenia, if there are not any other regulations defined by Low or international agreements.
2.8 Entrance visas of RA are not extended in “Zvartnots” airport. Entrance visas of RA are extended in the Passport and Visa Department of RA Police. If the Visas are not valid any more, the foreign citizens are to be fined an administrative penalty amounting to 50 000-100 000 AMD (Armenian drams) according to Part1. of Article 201 of RA Low.

3  Public health requirements

3.1 When the aircraft is arriving to the Republic of Armenia from affected areas, the pilot-in-command shall fill Declaration of Health of GD and submit it, passenger manifest and cargo manifest to officials of the Border Medical and Sanitary Control Post.
3.2 The crew members and passengers arriving to the Republic of Armenia from affected areas shall provide to officials of the Border Medical and Sanitary Control Post the appropriate International Certificate of Vaccination or Prophylaxis.
3.3 In the case of suspected infectious diseases on board of aircraft, the crew members and passengers shall fill in Public Health Passenger Locator Card and submit it and other required medical documents (e.g health certificates) to officials of the Border Medical and Sanitary Control Post .
3.4 Officials of the Border Medical and Sanitary Control Post use specific health measures with respect to infected or contaminated or suspected baggage, cargo, containers, conveyances, goods and postal parcels.
3.5 No Health Documents required from crew members and passengers departing from the Republic of Armenia, with the exception of the cases when it is required by the competent authority of the airport of arrival.
3.6 No Health Documents required from foreign aircraft crew members and foreign passengers departing from the Republic of Armenia.
3.7 All required documents (Public Health Passenger Locator Card, Declaration of Health of GD, International Certificate of Vaccination or Prophylaxis, Certificate of Residual Disinsection et al.) are deemed as valid if they are in the forms approved by the World Health Organization and/or International Civil Aviation Organization. Any change in the forms or any blank item may make them invalid.
3.8 The Border Medical and Sanitary Control PostSanitary Quarantine Post can use additional specific health measures to arriving or departing crew members and passengers in accordance with International Health Regulations (IHR, 2005).
